Le Palc

Le Palc was born out of a long and sensitive multidisciplinary artistic adventure carried out since the beginning of the 1980s. Since Turbulence, Le Palc has been built thanks to FURIES and alongside the CNAC, keeping most of what feeds our profession: imagination. 
Following three years of foreshadowing, the Palc therefore became a “national circus center” at the start of 2020. Thirteenth of the name in France and first in the Grand Est region, Le Palc joined the list of benchmark establishments in favor of support for creation, production and promotion of new forms of circus.
Located in the heart of a territory that has significantly contributed to the transformation of the circus, obtaining this label has a strong symbolic impact for the city of Châlons-en-Champagne. Beyond that, this recognition allows the Palc to expand its actions and participate effectively in artistic and cultural development linked to new forms of circus. In a process of territorial anchoring, Le Palc now acts as a useful resource for the construction of a real circus industry within the Grand Est Region in order to make it a prism for the emergence and contemporary circus creation.
The work of the Palc is structured around the support of artists and their projects (co-production, delegated production, companionship, reception in residence, artistic and technical support), the promotion of shows in Châlons-en-Champagne and in the Grand Est region but also cultural action: artistic and cultural education projects in connection with schools and circus companies.
The programming actions are punctuated by times of presentations of current creative work, a circus season - indoors, in public space, under a marquee - in Châlons-en-Champagne but also the promotion of shows on tour in the Grand Est region with the "Cirque à l'Est" project. Finally a meeting in February is emerging: the four hundred blows.
The Palc intends to pursue and strengthen a contribution to the recognition and qualification of the circus arts and participates in the renewal of its artistic forms and aesthetics.
